Lazio looking to loan Davide Zappacosta
Lazio are reportedly keeping a close eye on many right-backs across the Europe.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Lazio are set to loan Chelsea right-back Davide Zappacosta.
The 26-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Italy international was signed by Chelsea in August 2017 from Torino for a fee of 25 million euros. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
Zappacosta has played 44 times for Chelsea since signing from Torino, scoring 2 goals and creating 4 assists in that time.
The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Italy.
As a member of Italy national football team, Zappacosta won 13 caps.
The Chelsea manager does not see him in his plans and would be open to letting him leave.
Simone Inzaghi is looking to shore up his defensive options and Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta happens to be a target. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.
Lazio are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.
The right-back can also play as a full-back, offering Simone Inzaghi a different option should he change his formation at Lazio.
According to Football Italia, “Reports in England say Lazio are interested in Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta, as an alternative to Matteo Darmian. The Biancocelesti are keen to sign a right-back in January, as Martin Caceres looks set to leave the club. The capital club have been heavily linked with Darmian, but the Daily Mirror believes they are also looking at Zappacosta. Darmian remains the first choice, but if Manchester United don’t lower their asking price then the Aquile could go for Zappacosta.”
