Chelsea are known for going under the radar and signing some hidden gems in the transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in British and French media, Chelsea are in talks to bring Brentford attacker Said Benrahma.

The Algeria international joined Brentford from Nice for a fee in the region of 1.7 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.

He’s incredibly experienced for a 24-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.

Frank Lampard is looking to shore up his attacking options and Brentford’s Said Benrahma happens to be a target. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.

Benrahma has the talent to play many roles in attack.

According to the report, “Chelsea are in talks with Brentford attacker Said Benrahma. RMC says discussions have begun but an offer is yet to be submitted for the 24-year-old Algerian. He has spent the last two seasons at Griffin Park after arriving from French side Nice in 2018. Benrahma is a tricky wideman who has even been dubbed the ‘Algerian Messi’. He has played 34 of Brentford’s 37 Championship matches so far this season, scoring ten goals – including a hat-trick in the 5-1 drubbing of Hull. And could be the ideal replacement for veteran midfielders Pedro and Willian. The experienced duo are both out of contract this summer and could be exiting Stamford Bridge.”

It would take a huge offer from Chelsea to prise the 24-year-old attacker from Brentford.

Good signing for Chelsea?

The 24-year-old will be a good addition to Chelsea’s squad.

Although he may not be an immediate improvement to the squad, he could be a valuable signing for the future if he continues to progress at this rate.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Chelsea.

Will Said Benrahma be a Chelsea player soon? Only time will tell.
