Everton to consider bid for West Ham defender Winston Reid

West Ham United defender Winston Reid has emerged as a surprise target for Everton in the summer transfer window.

Everton will consider bid for West Ham defender Winston Reid, according to the football transfer rumours in British Media (Daily Mail).

The New Zealand international has joined West Ham United from Midtjylland for a fee in the region of 4.2 million euros in August 2010. The 29-year-old has a valid contract with West Ham until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Midtjylland, Winston Reid has scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in 203 games for West Ham.

As a member of New Zealand national football team, Reid has won 21 caps and has scored one goal.

Ronald Koeman wants to sign a new defender this summer and Winston Reid is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Reid and believes he can get the most out of the New Zealand international.

Everton manager wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Europa League next season.

 

 

Everton are desperate to make an impact in this summer transfer window.

According to the report in British Media, Ronald Koeman wants cover for injured Ramiro Funes Mori. Everton will consider bid in the region of 10.5 million euros for West Ham defender Winston Reid. The 29-year-old Reid has just returned to training after surgery on a shin injury.

How strong that interest is and whether Everton will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
