Zenit will look to sign Dejan Lovren

Now that the season is closing, it seems every day a new transfer rumour is created or re-created.

The latest reports in England suggest that Zenit will look to sign Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren.

The 31-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Croatia.

His record for Croatia is impressive. Lovren has scored three goals in 57 matches for Croatia at senior level.

Dejan Lovren is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Liverpool this summer and the list of suitors in the Croatia international continues to grow.

Sergei Semak wants to sign a new centre-back and Lovren is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The Croatia international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Semak wants to target in the summer transfer window.

There is no doubt that Dejan Lovren will take Zenit’s defense to a different level. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, ” Liverpool are preparing to sell Dejan Lovren this summer and they may already have a suitor. The Croatian has become the fourth-choice centre-back at Anfield after rejecting moves to Roma and AC Milan last summer. And the Liverpool Echo says Lovren will once get a chance to leave as Zenit Saint Petersburg are interested in acquiring his services. The Russian giants have yet to make an offer for the 31-year-old, who will become a free agent in 2021.”

Zenit will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Dejan Lovren to join the club.

Good signing for Zenit?

Zenit must improve their defensive options and the signing of Lovren would be a step in the right direction.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Zenit.

It will be interesting to see whether Zenit will make their move during the summer transfer window.
