Watford tracking Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio

According to the football transfer rumours in Portugal Media, Watford are tracking Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

Rui Patricio has joined Sporting Lisbon from Leiria e Marrazes in 2000. The 29 year-old has a valid contract with Sporting Lisbon until June 2022.

Since his arrival from Leiria e Marrazes, Rui Patricio has conceded 385 goals and provided 153 clean sheets in 398 games for Sporting Lisbon, including conceded 31 goals and provided 11 clean sheets in 28 games this season in all competitions.

The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Portugal.

Rui Patricio has represented Portugal at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 52 caps, before making his senior international debut in November 2010. As a member of Portugal national football team, he won 67 caps. He is a Euro 2016 winner with Portugal.

The Portugal international is a goalkeeper who has impressed many European Clubs in the last Euro 2016, and it is understood that Watford manager Walter Mazzarri would prefer playing him as a replacement of Heurelho Gomes.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Sporting Lisbon valuate their goalkeeper Rui Patricio in the region of 7 million euros.
