Fiorentina forward Mauro Zarate has emerged as a surprise target for the Premier Club Watford in the winter transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media, Watford are interested in Fiorentina’s striker Mauro Zarate.
The Argentina international has completed a move to Fiorentina from West Ham United for an undisclosed fee, reported to be in the region of 1.8 million euros in January 2016. Zarate has a valid contract with Viola until June 2018.
Since his arrival from West Ham United, 29 year-old has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 26 games for Fiorentina, including four goals and provided one assist in 9 matches in all competition this season.
The Argentina International has been a long term target of Walter Mazzarri as the manager looks to bolster his attacking options for the second part of the season.
Fiorentina’s striker had already spells in Premier League with Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United.
If Watford manager Walter Mazzarri can get sort of form out of him from the period when Zarate played for SS Lazio, there’s obviously no doubt he has the caliber to be a star at the Hornets.
