Paris Saint-Germain appear to have a genuine interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

According to the football transfer rumours in French media, PSG are poised to land Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgium international has joined Manchester United from Everton for a fee in the region of 32.5 million euros in September 2013. The 30-year-old has a valid contract with Manchester United until June 2018.

Since his arrival from Everton, Fellaini has scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in 144 games for Manchester United, including four goals and one assist in 11 games in all competitions this season.

The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Belgium.

The midfielder’s contract at Manchester United is about to expire and a number of clubs are said to be monitoring his situation, with Paris Saint-Germain showing the most concrete interest in an attempt to lure the player to their team.

The Paris Saint-Germain manager has kept an eye on Fellaini for the last 12 months and he is impressed with the midfielder’s performances.

Unai Emery is a long term admirer of Marouane Fellaini and believes he can get the most out of the Belgium international.

According to the report in French media, Paris Saint-Germain are keen to tempt Marouane Fellaini to France and have already made contact with the midfielder’s representatives. While Manchester United are reluctant to offer the midfielder a deal longer than one-year, Paris Saint-Germain have assured his agents a four-year contract will be available. If negotiations run smoothly, Fellaini will be free to sign a pre-contract with PSG from January 1.

Signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer would be a masterstroke from Unai Emery.
