The reports in England suggested that Newcastle are preparing move for Lille forward Victor Osimhen.
The 20-year-old has five years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.
Osimhen has scored 8 goals and assisted two more across all competitions this season.
The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Nigeria.
Victor Osimhen has represented Nigeria at Under-17 and Under-23 level, winning 14 caps and scoring 14 goals, before making his senior international debut in June 2017. As a member of Nigeria national football team, Osimhen won 7 caps and he scored one goal.
The Nigeria international has impressed in Ligue 1 this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.
