Monaco linked with a move for Steven Nzonzi
There has been numerous midfielders linked with Monaco in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Monaco are linked with a move for Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi.
The 30-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2022.
In total, Nzonzi has scored one goal and supplied two assists from 39 Roma matches.
Steven Nzonzi is out of the picture at Roma, which has opened the door for a potential exit.
Leonardo Jardim is looking to shore up his midfield options and Nzonzi happens to be a target.
Monaco are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.
Steven Nzonzi would provide a good variety to Monaco’s midfield.
According to Football Italia, “Monaco have joined Olympique Lyonnais in chasing Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi, who turned down a move to Galatasaray. The Frenchman was purchased from Sevilla last year for €26m, but struggled to make an impact and is widely expected to leave this summer. According to Sky Sport Italia, Monaco have begun negotiations with Roma and hope to secure a deal soon. Sportitalia report that Lyon are still in the lead, whereas Calciomercato.it suggest Galatasaray didn’t even get to make an offer before he rejected the option outright. Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà claims Roma would be prepared to sell for just €20m, which is less than they paid to sign him a year ago.”
