Monaco linked with a move for Benfica forward Raul Jimenez

It’s been a transfer window full of surprises, and Monaco could be set to carry on this trend.

Benfica forward Raul Jimenez has emerged as a surprise target for Monaco in the summer transfer window, according to the football transfer rumours in French Media (Foot Paris).

The Mexico international has joined Benfica from Atlético Madrid for a fee in the region of 22 million euros in August 2015. The 26-year-old has a valid contract with Benfica until June 2020.

Since his arrival from Atlético Madrid, Jimenez has scored 24 goals and provided 9 assists in 81 games for Benfica.

The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Mexico.

Raul Jimenez has represented Mexico at Under-23 level, winning 4 caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in January 2013. As a member of Mexico national football team, Raul Jimenez has won 57 caps and has scored 12 goals.
