Lyon linked with a move for Arnaut Danjuma
Lyon are reportedly keeping a close eye on many wingers across the Europe.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Lyon are linked with a move for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.
The Netherlands international joined Villarreal from AFC Bournemouth for a fee in the region of 23.5 million euros in August 2021. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.
In 18 appearances for Villarreal, Arnaut Danjuma has managed to score 9 goals, and create 3 goals for his teammates.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 24-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Arnaut Danjuma has represented Netherlands at Under-21 level, winning 6 caps and scoring 2 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2018. As a member of Netherlands national football team, Danjuma won 5 caps and he scored 2 goals.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Lyon.
The Ligue 1 club are looking to sign a winger and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target. They have built a reputation for recruiting talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
Peter Bosz is a long term admirer of Danjuma and believes he can get the most out of the Netherlands international.
The former Bournemouth man will offer the Lyon boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “Lyon are showing a serious interest in Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma. According to Todofichajes, the 24-year-old has shown good form since arriving in Spain from Bournemouth in the summer. Lyon are among the teams who are monitoring Danjuma’s progress and situation at Villarreal. Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona also have an interest in the player.”

It would take a huge offer from Lyon to prise the 24-year-old winger from Villarreal.
The Spanish side would be wise to keep the Netherlands international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.
Good signing for Lyon?
If Lyon and Peter Bosz are seriously considering a winger, Danjuma could also prove to be a smart option.
Arnaut Danjuma has all the skillset required to be a success story at Lyon. Therefore, it makes sense for Bosz to step up his attempts to bring the Netherlands winger to Ligue 1 side.
How strong that interest is and whether Lyon will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
