Everton looking to loan Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma

The attacking department of the Everton squad needs quality additions this winter.

According to multiple reports emanating from England, Everton are looking to loan Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.

The Netherlands international joined Villarreal from AFC Bournemouth for a fee in the region of 23.5 million euros in August 2021. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.

The winger has found the back of the net on six occasions in 17 matches this season across various competitions.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Netherlands.

Arnaut Danjuma has represented Netherlands at Under-21 level, winning 6 caps and scoring 2 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2018. As a member of Netherlands national football team, Danjuma won 6 caps and he scored 2 goals.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Everton.

Adding a winger remains Everton’s top priority this winter and Frank Lampard will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days. Lampard needs to sign players who can add creativity from the middle of the park.

Someone with Danjuma’s skillset and potential will no doubt be an excellent signing for Everton boss.

The Toffees are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The former AFC Bournemouth man is a quick and agile wide player who loves to make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He is not afraid to take on his markers and can beat them with pace to set-up some promising goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates inside the opponent’s penalty area. He has got the skillset to give Lampard more options in the final third.

According to the report, “Everton have expressed interest in Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma. The Blues have contacted Villarreal about a price for Danjuma. And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano states Villarreal are open to selling the winger. The former Bournemouth winger left Dean Court for Villarreal in 2021. The 25-year-old’s representatives are in contact with several clubs across Europe as the Dutchman prepares to leave this month.”

However, Everton will have to balance the books before attempting to land Danjuma.

If Everton can agree on a fee with Villarreal, the deal should be easy to complete. Villarreal will be ready to part ways with the winger should the right offer arrives.

Arnaut Danjuma ideal fit for Everton?

Arnaut Danjuma could offer a smart solution if Everton can manage to get him on loan. If the deal works out and the 25-year-old plays well, a permanent deal could be pursued and if he fails to perform, Danjuma can return to Villarreal.

The 25-year-old has all the skillset required to be a success story at Goodison Park. Therefore, it makes sense for Frank Lampard to step up his attempts to bring the Netherlands winger to Premier League side.

Everton fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.

It will be interesting to see where the player ends up this winter.
