Everton join Southampton in race for Demarai Gray
Everton reportedly want to add more quality on the flanks.
The latest reports in England suggest that Everton have joined Southampton in race for Leicester City winger Demarai Gray.
The 24-year-old has been subject to interest from various Premier League clubs.
The England international was signed by Leicester City in January 2016 from Birmingham City for a fee of 5.1 million euros. The 24-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
In 168 appearances for Leicester, Gray has managed to score 13 goals, and create 17 goals for his teammates.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 24-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Demarai Gray has represented England at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 36 caps and scoring 10 goals.
The winger has just 6 months remaining on his contract and Leicester may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next winter.
The Leicester City manager does not see him in his plans and would be open to letting him leave.
The Toffees are looking to sign a winger and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target.
Carlo Ancelotti has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe. Ancelotti is a long term admirer of Gray and believes he can get the most out of the England international.
Everton are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.
The England international will offer the Everton boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections. Gray has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “Everton and Southampton are competing for Leicester City winger Demarai Gray. It has been reported that Leicester are prepared to let Gray leave in January and not run the risk of him leaving on a free next summer when his current contract at the Foxes runs out. Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace are the clubs in the Premier League who are interested in the 24-year-old winger. Gray is really struggling for playing time at Leicester at the moment, and it would make sense for him to leave the Foxes and find a new club when the transfer window opens in January.”

A club with Everton’s resources should be able to afford him easily.
The Foxes are preparing to sell their winger should they receive right offer for him.
Demarai Gray ideal fit for Everton?
If Gray is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Everton.
Demarai Gray still has time on his side but he is unlikely to fulfill his potential at Leicester and it will be better for all parties if a transfer is arranged this winter.
All in all, Demarai Gray will be an ideal choice for Ancelotti as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his attackers.
Everton fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
It will be interesting to see if Everton can beat their rivals to the winger’s signature.
