Besiktas will look to sign Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner

Besiktas appear to have a genuine interest in signing Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner this summer.

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media (Football Italia), Besiktas will look to sign Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The Switzerland international has joined Juventus from Lazio for a fee in the region of 10.5 million euros in July 2011. The 33-year-old has a valid contract with Juventus until June 2018.

Stephan Lichtsteiner has played 229 times for Juventus since signing from Lazio, scoring 15 goals and creating 28 assists in that time.

The 33-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Switzerland.

Stephan Lichtsteiner has represented Switzerland at Under-21 level, winning 30 caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in November 2006. As a member of Switzerland national football team, Stephan Lichtsteiner has won 88 caps and has scored 6 goals.

The right-back has just 12 months remaining on his contract and Juventus may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Senol Gunes is keen to secure at least one more signing this summer, and Stephan Lichtsteiner could very well be a man under consideration.

The Switzerland international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Senol Gunes wants to target in the summer transfer window.

According to the report in Italian Media, Besiktas will reportedly make a late move for Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner. The transfer window in Turkey, meanwhile, does not shut until Friday.
