Besiktas set to sign Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard

Besiktas are optimistic about completing a deal for Leandro Trossard as the Turkish club continues its efforts to sign the Arsenal winger during the summer transfer window. The Belgian forward has attracted interest after becoming a reliable contributor for the Gunners, despite spending much of his time as a rotation option under manager Mikel Arteta.

Trossard has played an important role during his time at Arsenal, producing several decisive performances since arriving at the Emirates Stadium. While he has not always been a guaranteed starter, the 31-year-old has consistently delivered when called upon, scoring important goals and providing creativity in key moments.

Since joining Arsenal, Trossard has made 174 appearances across all competitions, scoring 36 goals and recording 34 assists. His ability to operate across multiple attacking positions has made him a valuable asset for Arteta’s squad, offering tactical flexibility and experience in high-pressure matches.

The winger has also enjoyed a strong international career with the Belgium national football team. Trossard has earned 57 caps for his country and scored 14 goals, establishing himself as a regular option at international level.

Despite his contributions, Arsenal’s evolving squad plans could open the door for a summer departure. With the club continuing to strengthen their attacking options and maintain a competitive squad, Trossard’s future has become a subject of increasing speculation.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Besiktas are confident that they can finalize an agreement for the experienced winger. Reports suggest that negotiations between the two clubs have progressed significantly, with Arsenal and Besiktas understood to have reached an agreement worth around €20 million, including potential add-ons.

The proposed deal would represent a significant move for Besiktas, who are looking to add more quality and experience to their attacking options. Trossard’s proven record in one of Europe’s strongest leagues makes him an attractive target as the Turkish club aims to compete for major honours domestically.

Besiktas have reportedly offered Trossard a three-year contract, with the option to extend the agreement for an additional 12 months. However, the final decision remains with the player, who has yet to give his approval for the transfer.

For Trossard, the move would represent a new challenge after several successful seasons in English football. A switch to Turkey could provide the Belgian international with a more prominent role and potentially more regular playing time compared to his situation at Arsenal.

The winger’s experience, technical quality, and ability to produce moments of individual brilliance would make him a major addition for Besiktas. His arrival would also bring valuable Premier League experience to a squad looking to improve its attacking threat.

As the transfer window progresses, discussions are expected to continue between all parties. Besiktas remain confident that they can convince Trossard to accept the move, while Arsenal could benefit from a significant transfer fee for a player who has played a key role during his time in North London.
