Barcelona have secured an option for the Colombia international Yerry Mina

Barcelona appear to have a genuine interest in signing Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina this winter.

According to the football transfer rumours in Portuguese Media (A Bola), Barcelona have secured an option for the Colombia international Yerry Mina.

The Colombia international has joined Palmeiras from Santa Fe for a fee in the region of 3.4 million euros in May 2016. The 22-year-old has a valid contract with Palmeiras until May 2020.

Since his arrival from Santa Fe, Mina has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 27 games for Palmeiras, including 4 goals and provided one assist in 18 games in all competitions this season.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best young defenders in Colombia.
