Atalanta preparing move for Victor Osimhen
Atalanta are showing strong interest in Victor Osimhen.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Atalanta are preparing move for Charleroi striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international joined Charleroi from VfL Wolfsburg.
In total, he has scored 20 goals and supplied 4 assists from 36 Charleroi matches.
The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Nigeria.
Victor Osimhen has represented Nigeria at Under-17 and Under-23 level, winning 11 caps and scoring 13 goals, before making his senior international debut in June 2017. As a member of Nigeria national football team, Osimhen won two caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Atalanta.
Gian Piero Gasperini is looking to shore up his attacking options and Charleroi’s Victor Osimhen happens to be a target. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
According to Football Italia, “Atalanta are said to be preparing a €15m move for Charleroi striker and Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, according to Belgian reports. The 20-year-old spent this season on loan from Wolfsburg and the club activated their clause to buy outright for €3.5m. He was top scorer in the Under-17 World Cup in 2015. According to Belgian site DH, negotiations are at an advanced stage with Atalanta.”

Charleroi are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the striker, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Signing the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Gasperini.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Atalanta.
