Wolverhampton prepare mega offer for Oli McBurnie

Wolves could be in for a busy transfer this summer.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Wolverhampton are preparing mega offer for Oli McBurnie.

The Scotland international only joined Sheffield United from Swansea City in 2019 for 19.1 million euros and his contract runs to June 2023.

The striker has banged in one goal and provided one assist in 24 matches this term on all fronts.

The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Scotland. As a member of Scotland national football team, McBurnie won 17 caps.

His performances have seen him become the target of many Premier League clubs including Wolverhampton.

Wolves are looking to sign a striker and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target. They have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

Wolverhampton will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the summer transfer window.

The Scotland international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Wolves are eyeing Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie. The Sun says Wolves are eyeing a £15million swoop for McBurnie to give Nuno Espirito Santo extra firepower. The Portuguese coach wants fresh competition for Raul Jimenez next season and the Scotland ace fits the bill. McBurnie, 24, has had a rough Blades campaign after picking up two injuries – but he could be one of their players who stays at Prem level. Because McBurnie can play as a target man or off the main striker, he appeals to Wolves who have toiled without the injured Jimenez. Wolves will back boss Nuno with money after that squad weakness was exposed, although they hope Jimenez will be firing after his fractured skull. United also plan to cash in on the striker they signed from Swansea when they were first promoted. He is one of their most sellable assets.”

It would take a huge offer from Wolverhampton to prise the 24-year-old striker from Sheffield United.

United are preparing to sell their striker should they receive a massive offer for him.

A move away from Sheffield United will not be only the best move for McBurnie, but also for the club.

Oli McBurnie ideal fit for Wolverhampton?

A move to Wolverhampton will be ideal for the 24-year-old at this point of his career.

Although he may not be an immediate improvement to the squad, he could be a valuable signing for the future if he continues to progress at this rate.

Wolves should do everything in their power to sign the in-demand McBurnie, who has all the qualities to be a success at the club.

How strong that interest is and whether Wolves will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
