West Ham want summer move for Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna

West Ham United want summer move for Manchester City out of contract defender Bacary Sagna, according to the football transfer rumours in English Media.

Bacary Sagna has joined Manchester City after his contract with Arsenal was set to expire on 30 June 2014. The 33 year-old veteran has a valid contract with Manchester City until the end of the season.

Since his arrival from Arsenal, Bacary Sagna has provided five assists in 78 games for Manchester City, including two assists in 17 games in all competition this season.

Bacary Sagna has also represented France at Under-21 level, winning 12 caps. As a member of French national team, Sagna won 65 caps.

The France international has been in fine form for the Citizens this season.

Bacary Sagna has been long term target of Slaven Bilic as the managers look to bolster his defensive options for the next season. The Croatian manager has a big problem on right-back position all season with poor form of Alvaro Arbeloa and Sam Byram.

How strong that interest is and whether the Hammers will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
