West Ham preparing move for Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel
There has been numerous midfielders linked with West Ham in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, West Ham are preparing move for Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel.
The Chile international joined Besiktas from Inter Milan for a fee in the region of 2.5 million euros in August 2017. His contract expires in the summer of 2020.
Medel has played 68 times for Besiktas since signing from Inter Milan, scoring one goal and creating two assists in that time.
The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Chile.
His record for Chile is also impressive. Medel has scored 7 goals in 116 matches for Chile at senior level.
Manuel Pellegrini wants to sign a new midfielder and Medel is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
According to TribalFootball, “West Ham haven’t dropped their interest in Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel. The Hammers expressed interest in the Chile international last month. And Takvim says West Ham remain keen on Medel ahead of the summer market. A fee couldn’t be struck in January, but that hasn’t put off the Hammers, where manager Manuel Pellegrini is a fan. Now 31, the former Cardiff City midfielder has been playing at the back for Besiktas.”

Besiktas are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the midfielder, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Undoubtedly he would be a fantastic recruit for West Ham.
