Tottenham target Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira

right-back Ricardo Pereira has emerged as a surprise target for Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in Portugal Media (Record), Tottenham are targeting Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira.

The Portugal international was signed by Porto in July 2013 from Vitória Guimarães for a fee of 1.6 million euros. The 23-year-old has a valid contract with Porto until June 2019. In August 2015, Pereira was sent to Nice on a two-season-long loan.

Since his arrival, Ricardo Pereira has scored two goals and provided eight assists in 57 games for Nice, including two goals and provided four assists in 30 games in all competitions this season.

The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Portugal.

Ricardo Pereira has represented Portugal at Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 35 caps and scoring 12 goals, before making his senior international debut in November 2015. As a member of Portugal national football team, Ricardo Pereira has won two caps.

According to the report from Portugal, Tottenham are preparing an offer in the region of 20 million euros for the Portugal international.
