Tottenham eyeing Genk centre-forward Paul Onuachu

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Tottenham are eyeing Genk centre-forward Paul Onuachu.

The Nigeria international was signed by KRC Genk in August 2019 from Midtjylland for a fee of 6 million euros. The 27-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.

The centre-forward has banged in 11 goals in 17 matches this term on all fronts.

The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-forwards in Nigeria. Onuachu has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 3 goals in 15 senior appearances for the Nigeria national team.

His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.

Adding a centre-forward remains Tottenham’s top priority this winter and Fabio Paratici will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

The report claims that Tottenham managing director of football has extensively scouted Onuachu and is considering a move for the centre-forward.

The Spurs are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.

The Nigeria international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Premier League side.

Paul Onuachu has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Tottenham are being linked with KRC Genk centre-forward Paul Onuachu. The towering Nigeria international is being linked with Spurs as a potential replacement for Harry Kane. Voetbal24 says should Kane leave Tottenham, they already have Onuachu have on a shortlist of replacements under consideration. While he was blocked from leaving for Manchester City last summer, England international Kane could yet see him depart – and as early as January. Along with Spurs, Onuachu is also attracting interest from West Ham and Southampton.”
