Sunderland interested in Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan

Sunderland are interested in Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan, according to the football transfer rumours in Turkish Media.

Tolgay Arslan has joined Besiktas from Hamburger SV for a fee in the region of 450,000 euros in January 2015. The 26 year-old has a valid contract with Besiktas until the June 2018.

After his arrival from Hamburger SV, Tolgay Arslan has scored two goals and provided five assists in 62 games for Besiktas, including four assists in 33 games in all competition this season.

Tolgay Arslan has also represented Turkey and Germany at Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning seven caps across all age groups.

The Germany international player  has been target of David Moyes as the manager look to bolster his midfield options for the next season.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Besiktas is prepared to sell Arslan to Sunderland, but they want swap deal with Sunderland’s winger Jeremain Lens, who is currently on loan at Fenerbahce.

How strong that interest is and whether Sunderland will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
