Jonjoe Kenny is getting closer to Schalke day by day as transfer talk continues to intensify.
As per German and British media, Schalke are poised to land Everton right-back Jonjoe Kenny.
The 23-year-old’s contract at Everton is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The Everton manager does not see him in his plans and would be open to letting him leave.
The England international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player David Wagner wants to target in the summer transfer window.
Schalke are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The right-back can also play as a full-back, offering Wagner a different option should he change his formation at Schalke.
According to the report, “Schalke have returned to Everton with a new loan offer for Jonjoe Kenny. Sport1 says Schalke have re-opened talks with Everton over taking Kenny back on loan according to reports in Germany. The right-back impressed in the Bundesliga last season and Schalke are keen to take him back but they are not in a financial state to sign the defender on a permanent basis this summer. And the Bundesliga side have re-opened talks with Everton regarding another loan move. The Blues would prefer to sell but for the moment they do not have any concrete offers for him for a permanent move away from Goodison Park. Kenny is believed to be interested in the move, knowing he’ll be first-choice for Schalke while only deputy to Seamus Coleman at Everton.”

Undoubtedly Kenny would be a fantastic recruit for Schalke.
Jonjoe Kenny still has time on his side but he is unlikely to fulfill his potential at Everton and it will be better for all parties if a transfer is arranged this summer.
The 23-year-old could be a good fit for David Wagner’s Schalke.
