Schalke leading the chase for Leicester City forward
Leicester City’s forward Shinji Okazaki has emerged as a surprise target for Schalke 04 in the January transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in German Media, Schalke 04 are leading the chase for Leicester City’s forward Shinji Okazaki.
The Japan international has moved to Premier League Club Leicester City from Bundesliga Club FSV Mainz 05 for a fee believed to be in the region of 8.2 million euros in 2015.
Since his arrival from FSV Mainz 05, Okazaki has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 62 games for Leicester City, including five goals in 23 games in all competition this season.
Euro Football Rumours were informed that the Bundesliga Club need new striker in winter transfer window and they are willing to take the Japan international on-loan to the end of this season.
How strong that interest is and whether Schalke 04 will make a January move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
