PSG to consider 222 million euros bid for Barcelona star Neymar

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media (Marca), Paris Saint-Germain will consider bid for Barcelona star Neymar.

The Brazil international has joined Barcelona from Santos for a fee in the region of 88 million euros in July 2013. The 25-year-old has a valid contract with Barcelona until June 2021.

Neymar has played 186 times for Barcelona since signing from Santos, scoring 105 goals and creating 80 assists in that time.

The Brazil international has been in impressive form for Barcelona last season.

Neymar has represented Brazil at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning 10 caps and scoring 10 goals, before making his senior international debut in August 2010. As a member of Brazil national football team, Neymar has won 77 caps and has scored 52 goals.

Adding a forward remains Paris Saint-Germain’s top priority this summer and Unai Emery will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

Unai Emery has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented players across the globe.

Emery will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Barcelona forward is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

The forward can also play as a left wing, offering Emery a different option should he change his formation at Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar has a release clause in his contract which stands at 222 million euros which would need to be met in full before Barcelona would allow him to leave the club this summer.

According to the report in Spanis Media, PSG are willing to pay 222 million euros to bring Neymar to the Parc des Princes, should they get the player’s word that he wants to move. They are also prepared to offer Neymar 30 million euros per year plus bonuses.

How strong that interest is and whether Paris Saint-Germain will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
