Parma looking to loan Andrea Conti
Parma target Andrea Conti to boost their defensive options.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Parma are looking to loan Milan right-back Andrea Conti.
AC Milan spent 24 million euros to sign the Italy international from Atalanta in the summer of 2017. The 25-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2022.
Conti made 20 appearances across all competitions for Milan, supplying 3 assists in return.
The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Italy.
Andrea Conti has represented Italy at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 30 caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in September 2017. As a member of Italy national football team, Conti won one cap.
Roberto D’Aversa is keen to secure at least one more signing this summer, and Conti could very well be a man under consideration. He is a long term admirer of Andrea Conti and believes he can get the most out of the Italy international.
The 25-year-old can play multiple positions in defense and midfield.
According to Calciomercato, “Even though Andrea Conti wants to stay at AC Milan, Parma are refusing to give up in their pursuit of the full-back. In an interview today, the club’s sporting director confirmed this. “Conti? For now, nothing has faded. In the last days of the market, anything can happen as always. We asked about Andrea, now we will wait for the intentions of Milan and the player,” Faggiano told Sky Italia. The Gialloblu are looking to sign the right-back on a season-long loan, ready to guarantee the Milan man playing time next season, as Calabria is the first choice at San Siro. However, Conti remains keen on fighting for a spot in Giampaolo’s starting eleven. Therefore, even though the Rossoneri are yet to give a final response to the request, the right-back has made his mind up. In other words, a transfer most likely won’t take place, unless Boban and Maldini manage to convince the player’s agent, and above all the player himself.”
