Paris Saint-Germain could be in for a busy transfer this summer.
According to the football transfer rumours in French and British media, Paris Saint-Germain are linked with fresh move for Idrissa Gueye.
The Senegal international was signed by Everton in August 2016 from Aston Villa for a fee of 8.5 million euros. The 29-year-old has a contract until 2022 with the club.
Idrissa Gueye has played 108 times for Everton since signing from Aston Villa, scoring 4 goals and creating 5 assists in that time.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Senegal. His record for Senegal is also impressive. Gueye has scored two goals in 63 matches for Senegal at senior level.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The report details that Thomas Tuchel feels his midfield currently lacks some bite and that he could strengthen this summer.
Idrissa Gueye is a long-term target of Paris Saint-Germain’s and could be a decent addition for Tuchel’s side. Gueye has the talent to play many roles in midfield.
According to HITC, “According to a report from French media outlet Paris United, Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel is insistent on signing Everton ace Idrissa Gueye this summer, but the Merseyside outfit are now demanding a huge €50 million (£45 million) fee for the Senegalese midfielder. The 29-year-old joined the Toffees from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016, and he has gone on to be a real success at Goodison Park, making 108 appearances in all competitions in the process. Gueye is vital to the way in which Everton play, so perhaps it is no surprise that Marco Silva is so keen to keep hold of him. Paris United claims that PSG boss Tuchel has made signing the Senegal international his priority this summer, however, although he will not come cheap. The French publication claims that Everton have now upped their asking price for Gueye to £45 million.”
TOP FOOTBALL TRANSFERS 2018-2019
Paris Saint-Germain have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Senegal international.
Signing the 29-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Thomas Tuchel.
How strong that interest is and whether Paris Saint-Germain will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
