The summer transfer window is still a two months away from officially opening up. However, that does not often stop clubs for making offers to buy players from other clubs.
According to the football transfer rumours in British and French media, Marseille will look to sign Inter midfielder Lucien Agoume.
The France international joined Inter from Sochaux for a fee in the region of 4.5 million euros in July 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2023. In September 2020, Agoume was sent to Spezia on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old has long been touted as one of France’s most promising young talents.
Lucien Agoume has represented France at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level, winning 34 caps and scoring 9 goals.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Marseille.
The French giants are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 19-year-old as potential transfer target.
Jorge Sampaoli has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
Lucien Agoume would provide a good variety to Marseille’s midfield.
According to the report, “Olympique Marseille are interested in Inter Milan midfielder Lucien Agoume. The youngster is playing this season on-loan with Spezia. Inter value Agoume at €15m and have little interest in selling the prospect this summer.Le Dauphine Libere says Marseille see Agoume as a potential alternative in defensive midfield to Boubacar Kamara, who could leave the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season. Agoume has made 12 appearances in all competitions since joining Spezia on a season-long loan.”

Inter are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the midfielder, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Lucien Agoume ideal fit for Olympique Marseille?
It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.
As for the player, Marseille could be a great place for him to grow as a footballer. They will be able to provide him with regular first-team football and he will be coached by a very good manager like Sampaoli.
If he manages to fulfill his potential with them, the transfer would seem like a bargain in future.
It will be interesting to see if Olympique Marseille can convince the Italian outfit to sell Agoume in the coming transfer window.
