According to multiple reports emanating from England, Newcastle are set to sign Flamengo striker Gabriel Barbosa.

Flamengo spent 17.45 million euros to sign the Brazil international from Inter Milan in the winter of 2020. The 25-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.

Magpies head of recruitment Steve Nickson has scouted Gabigol during trips to South America and it seems he could get his wish this month. The Chronicle reports that he is keen on the idea of a move to Newcastle and would love to team up with compatriot Joelinton.”
