According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Manchester United are linked with a move for Braga centre-back David Carmo.
The 22-year-old’s contract at Braga is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
In 19 appearances last season, Carmo has managed to score one goal.
The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Portugal. Carmo has represented Portugal at Under-19 and Under-20 level, winning 17 caps.
His impressive performances last season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
By the club’s own admission, Braga centre-back David Carmo is Manchester United’s transfer target. The Red Devils are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has been a good servant for Braga, and is a centre-back who places himself in the right positions in defensive situations. His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.
According to the report, “The Red Devils are very eager to add a fast defender who can help them play in the ideal style of new manager Erik ten Hag. Manchester Evening News suggests United are talking with Portuguese defender David Carmo. The 22-year-old Braga defender has been the subject of two rounds of talks between the two clubs. Carmo has linked to Liverpool in 2020-2021, and has a £34 million release clause in his contract.”

A big money bid from United could tempt Braga into selling their prized asset.
Braga would be wise to keep the Portugal international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.
Good signing for Manchester United?
David Carmo stands as an excellent option for Manchester United. Carmo has all the skillset required to be a success story at Manchester United. Therefore, it makes sense for Erik ten Hag to step up his attempts to bring the Portugal centre-back to Premier League side.
How strong that interest is and whether Manchester United will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
