Manchester United join AC Milan in race for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic

There has been numerous strikers linked with Manchester United in past few months.

British source claim that Manchester United have joined Milan in race for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.

The Serbia international only joined Real from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019 for 60 million euros and his contract runs to June 2025.

Luka Jovic has scored two goals and assisted two more across all competitions this season.

The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Serbia.

The Real Madrid striker has also represented the Serbia at various youth levels before going on to secure 7 senior caps for his country thus far.

The Serbia international striker has struggled to adapt to Spanish football and he could be made available this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to tighten up his attack and a striker would be a welcome addition.

The Red Devils have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

Solskjaer is a long term admirer of Luka Jovic and believes he can get the most out of the Serbia international.

According to the report, “Manchester United are reportedly ready to rival AC Milan for the signing of Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic. Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in the hunt for a new No 9 since Romelu Lukaku was allowed to leave for Inter Milan last summer. However, he was thwarted in bids to bring in the likes of Moussa Dembele, Timo Werner, Krzystof Piatek, Paulo Dybala and Erling Haaland. Milan were considered favourites to bring in the Serbian. With Tuttosport (via MilanNews) confirming that prospective new manager Ralf Rangnick wants to work with Jovic at the San Siro. But according to Fichajes, as cited by SempreMilan, United have entered the race to land Jovic. Solskjaer wants to provide competition for Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Grenwood and the on-loan Odion Ighalo. The report adds that the Red Devils are planning to take Jovic, who has also been linked with Arsenal, on loan for a season with an option to buy. Real are said to be ready to part company with the frontman they bought for €60m last summer. Indeed, Zinedine Zidane is reportedly already pondering moves for new attackers at the Bernabeu.”

A move to Manchester United is exactly what Jovic needs to reignite his career, and we hope he is able to do just that.

The Red Devils in particular need to sort out a striker for the next season and the 22-year-old could be a solid signing for them.

Luka Jovic is very highly rated in Serbia and he could be a superb long term signing for Manchester United.
