Levante poised to land Schalke right-back Coke
Levante are discussing a move to sign Coke in the coming window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Levante are poised to land Schalke veteran Coke.
The Spain international joined Schalke from Sevilla for a fee in the region of 4.2 million euros in August 2016. The 30-year-old has a valid contract with Schalke until June 2019.
The right-back has scored one goal in 10 games for Schalke since joining the club in 2016.
Coke has represented Spain at Under-16 level, winning one cap.
The 30-year-old is out of the picture at Schalke, which has opened the door for a potential exit.
Muniz is looking to shore up his defensive options and Schalke’s Coke happens to be a target.
The Levante manager is a long term admirer of Coke and believes he can get the most out of the Spain international.
Levante will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings this winter who can improve the first-team.
The 30-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Levante squad and would be a good buy in January.

According to the report, former Sevilla captain Coke is set to sign for Levante in January after being frozen out at Schalke. Coke has featured only once in the league this season because Schalke’s 3-5-2 formation does not accommodate him. The 30-year-old won three Europa League titles in a period of five years with Sevilla having previously spent six seasons with Rayo Vallecano.
It will be interesting to see whether Levante make their move during the January transfer window.
