Barcelona tracking Gremio prodigy Arthur Melo
Barcelona are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Brazil prodigy Arthur Melo.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Barcelona are tracking Gremio midfielder Arthur Melo.
The Brazil international has joined Gremio in 2008. The 21-year-old has a valid contract with Gremio until December 2019.
Arthur Melo made 39 appearances across all competitions for Gremio, scoring one goal and supplying one assist in return.
The 21-year-old is considered to be one of the best young midfielders in Brazil.
Barcelona have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within South America, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
Barcelona will be desperate to make an impact in winter transfer window.
The 21-year-old would be a very good addition for Barcelona and they can afford him as well.

According to the report in Spanish media, Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has spent the past week in Brazil tracking Gremio midfielder Arthur Melo. The 21-year-old helped his side to last year’s Copa do Brasil trophy and his rise to prominence has been monitored closely by the Catalan giants. Barcelona are frustrated at missing out on Brazilian talents such as Gabriel Jesus and Vinicius Junior, who have joined Manchester City and Real Madrid respectively.
How strong that interest is and whether Barcelona will make a winter move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
