Lech Poznan forward David Kownacki in advanced negotiations with Fiorentina

Lech Poznan forward David Kownacki has emerged as a surprise target for Fiorentina ahead of the January transfer window.

Fiorentina are looking set to land David Kownacki after Italian Media revealed that they are in advanced negotiations with Lech Poznan ahead of a potential move this month.

David Kownacki has joined Lech Poznan from GKP Gorzów Wielkopolski in 2005. The 19 year-old has a valid contract with Lech Poznan until June 2018.

Since his arrival from GKP Gorzów Wielkopolski, David Kownacki has scored 21 goals and provided eight assists in 101 games for Lech Poznan, including six goals in 17 games in all competition this season.

Kownacki has also represented Poland at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 24 caps across all age groups and scoring 17 goals.

The Poland international has been a target of Paulo Sousa as the manager looks to bolster his attacking options for the second part of the season.

Euro Football Rumours were informed that Fiorentina are preparing the offer in the region of 3 million euros for his services and that David Kownacki has already agreed to join Viola.
