Lazio eyeing move for Xherdan Shaqiri
When it comes to the transfer market, Lazio are simply one of the best in the business.
According to the football transfer rumours in British and Italian media, Lazio are eyeing move for Liverpool attacker Xherdan Shaqiri.
The 28-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Switzerland international joined Liverpool from Stoke City for a fee in the region of 14.7 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
This season, Shaqiri has scored one goal in 11 appearances for Liverpool.
The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best attackers in Switzerland.
Xherdan Shaqiri has left his mark at the international stage after netting 22 goals in 82 senior appearances for the Switzerland national team.
Adding an attacker remains Lazio’s top priority this summer and Simone Inzaghi will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days.
Shaqiri has been long term target of Inzaghi as the manager look to bolster his attacking options for the next season.
The Lazio manager wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.
There is no doubt that Xherdan Shaqiri will take Lazio’s attack to a different level.
According to the report, “Lazio are making a move for Liverpool attacker Xherdan Shaqiri. Lazio are dusting themselves off after missing out on David Silva and want to sign Liverpool’s Shaqiri, according to reports in Italy. Silva has signed for Real Sociedad after coming off contract at Manchester City. He had been expected to join Lazio this week. And Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicola Schira reports: “After the loss of David Silva (he has signed with Real Sociedad) Lazio are looking Liverpool’s player Xherdan Shaqiri and the free agent Jack Bonaventura.” Bonaventura is available after coming off contract at AC Milan.”
