The Spain international was signed by Zenit in August 2014 from Manchester City for a fee of 16.8 million euros.
The 30-year-old made 108 appearances across all competitions for Zenit, scoring 7 goals in return.
Javi Garcia has represented Spain at Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 18 caps and scoring two goals, before making his senior international debut in May 2012. As a member of Spain national football team, Garcia has won two caps.
