Inter Milan target Manchester City star Nathan Ake
Inter Milan need to strengthen their defense.
The latest update from Italy suggests that Inter Milan are targeting Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake.
Manchester City spent 45.3 million euros to sign the Netherlands international from AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2020. The 27-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2025.
The centre-back has featured in nine matches this term in all competitions.
He is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Netherlands. Ake has also left his mark at the international stage after netting three goals in 29 senior appearances for the Netherlands national team.
Adding a centre-back remains Inter’s top priority this winter and Inzaghi will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
The report claims that Inter manager has extensively scouted Nathan Ake and is considering a move for the centre-back.
Inter are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Bournemouth man is often quick to scan the danger and is not shy of getting stuck in with some well-timed tackles to help secure possession back for his side. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “Inter Milan are eyeing Manchester City defender Nathan Ake. The Nerazzurri are targeting the Dutchman for the January market. Inter are concerned losing Milan Skriniar and see Ake as an ideal replacement. Transfer expert Ekrem Konur reports: “Inter is trying to tempt Dutch centre-back Nathan Ake into leaving Manchester City.” Ake has a deal at City to 2025.”

It would take a huge offer from Inter to prise the 27-year-old centre-back from City.
The English giants would be wise to keep the Netherlands international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.
