The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Croatia.

His record for Croatia is also impressive. Kalinic has scored 15 goals in 42 matches for Croatia at senior level.

Nikola Kalinic is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Atletico Madrid this summer and the list of suitors in the Croatia international continues to grow.

The Fenerbahce manager is in the market for a new striker. Ersun Yanal is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.

The Croatia international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker.

According to Football Espana, “Fenerbahce are seriously considering a move for out-of-favour Atletico Madrid striker Nikola Kalinic. Marca cite a report from Turkish newspaper Fanatik that the Istanbul giants are weighing up a move for the Croatian striker, who has not been involved in regular first-team football this season. It has been a second season of frustration for the 31-year-old after an underwhelming stint at the Rossoneri, who signed him for €29m in 2017 from Fiorentina. Kalinic scored 27 times across two seasons with La Viola but his career has stagnated since with a lack of regular first-team football. He was even linked with moves away this January with Monaco, Real Betis and Sevilla among the clubs linked to his signature, but a transfer never materialised.”

Atletico Madrid are preparing to sell their striker should they receive right offer for him.

Fenerbahce fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club this summer.

How strong that interest is and whether Fenerbahce will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
