Arias has played 44 times for Atletico since signing from PSV, scoring one goal and creating three assists in that time.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best fullbacks in Colombia.

As a member of Colombia national football team, Arias won 53 caps.

Carlo Ancelotti is looking to shore up his defensive options and Atletico Madrid’s Arias happens to be a target. Ancelotti is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.

There is no doubt that Arias will take Everton’s defense to a different level.

According to the report, “Everton are eyeing Atletico Madrid fullback Santiago Arias. Mundo Deportivo says Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to recruit the 28-year-old this summer. Arias, who has a contract until 2023, is already known to Everton’s sports director Marcel Brands from their time together at PSV Eindhoven. The Colombia defender has managed just 11 appearances this season with Kieran Trippier and Sime Vrsaljko ahead of him in Atletico coach Diego Simeone’s plans.”

Everton will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Arias to join the club.

Undoubtedly he would be a fantastic recruit for Everton.

Everton fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.

How strong that interest is and whether Everton will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
