Everton finally have signed Gylfi Sigurdsson

Everton have been heavily linked with a move for Gylfi Sigurdsson over the course of the transfer window.

According to the football news in British Media (Daily Mail), Everton finally have signed Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Iceland international has joined Swansea City from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee in the region of 10 million euros in July 2014.

Since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur, Gylfi Sigurdsson has scored 37 goals and provided 30 assists in 131 games for Swansea City.

The Iceland international has been in outstanding form for Swansea City last season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has represented Iceland at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 32 caps and scoring 16 goals, before making his senior international debut in May 2010. As a member of Iceland national football team, Gylfi Sigurdsson has won 50 caps and has scored 15 goals.

Ronald Koeman wanted to sign a new creative midfielder this summer and Gylfi Sigurdsson was at the top of his wishlist.

The Iceland international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Ronald Koeman wanted to target in the summer transfer window.

Ronald Koeman is a long term admirer of Gylfi Sigurdsson and believes he can get the most out of the Iceland international.

Everton are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

The 27-year old would be a versatile addition for the Everton, having featured at attacking midfielder, right winger and in a left winger role.

With questions being raised concerning Ross Barkley’s future at the club, the Everton boss could well look to Gylfi Sigurdsson as an ideal replacement.

According to the report in British Media, Everton have signed Gylfi Sigurdsson after agreeing a 53 million euros (The Toffees will pay an initial fee of 47 million euros and two 3 million euros add-ons) fee with Swansea. Iceland midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a five year deal worth 120,000 euros per week.

Having signed Gylfi Sigurdsson for 10 million euros in the summer of 2015, to make a 37-43 million euros profit on the 27-year-old who, without question, will be fantastic for Swansea City is a good deal all round.
