Chelsea linked with a loan move for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani

Chelsea are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Algeria international Islam Slimani.

It’s claimed by British media that Chelsea are linked with a loan move for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

The Algeria international was signed by Leicester City in August 2016 from Sporting CP for a fee of 31 million euros. The 29-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.

Since his arrival from Sporting CP, Slimani has scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 46 games for Leicester City, including five goals and two assists in 17 games in all competitions this season.

The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Algeria.

His record for Algeria is also impressive. Islam Slimani has scored 26 goals in 55 matches for Algeria at senior level.

The Leicester City manager does not see him in his plans and would be open to letting him leave.

Antonio Conte wants to sign a new striker and Islam Slimani is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The report claims that Chelsea manager has extensively scouted Islam Slimani and is considering a move for the striker.

Chelsea have turned to Leicester City’s Islam Slimani in their desperate search for a striker. Slimani fits the bill of what Conte is looking for and would be eligible for the Champions League.
