Brighton to consider fresh bid for Spartak Moscow striker Ze Luis

Brighton are showing strong interest in Ze Luis.

The reports in England suggested that Brighton will consider fresh bid for Spartak Moscow striker Ze Luis.

The Cape Verde international was signed by Spartak Moscow in July 2015 from Braga for a fee of 6.5 million euros. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.

Since his arrival from Braga, Luis has scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists in 63 games for Spartak Moscow, including four goals and six assists in 14 games in all competitions this season.

Ze Luis has also scored two goals in 17 games for his country.

Chris Hughton wants to sign a new striker and Ze Luis is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The Brighton manager has kept an eye on Luis for the last 12 months and he is impressed with the striker’s performances.

Brighton will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The 26-year-old would be a very good addition for Brighton and they can afford him as well.

According to the report, Brighton are desperately short of firepower having scored just 14 goals in 18 top-flight matches. They have already had a 5.85 million euros offer turned down for the Cape Verde international.

Ze Luis helped Spartak to a league and Russian Super Cup double last season.

However, sources in Moscow claim the reigning champions are unwilling to part with the former Braga frontman next month.

It will be interesting to see whether Brighton will make their move during the January transfer window.
