Bordeaux are showing strong interest in Diafra Sakho.

The reports in France suggested that Bordeaux are poised to land West Ham striker Diafra Sakho.

The Senegal international was signed by West Ham in August 2014 from Metz for a fee of 5 million euros.

Since his arrival from Metz, Sakho has scored 24 goals and provided four assists in 71 games for West Ham, including four goals and one assist in 17 games in all competitions this season.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Senegal.

The Senegal international is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by West Ham this winter and the list of suitors in the Senegal international continues to grow.

Gus Poyet is keen to secure at least one more signing this winter, and Diafra Sakho could very well be a man under consideration.

Poyet is a long term admirer of Sakho and believes he can get the most out of the Senegal international.

According to the report, Bordeaux are challenging Rennes in their pursuit of West Ham striker Diafra Sakho. The 28-year-old is pushing to leave the Hammers in the coming days. The French giants want to take Sakho on-loan for six months with the option of a 10 million euros permanent deal. Meanwhile, Rennes are offering in the region of 12 milion euros for the outright option. Despite the inferior offer, Bordeaux are regarded as favourites thanks to the presence of new coach Gus Poyet. His son, Diego Poyet, is a very close friend with Sakho. They played together at West Ham.

Signing the 28-year-old in January would be a masterstroke from Gus Poyet.

Whether he will join Bordeaux or not remains to be seen.
