Bayer Leverkusen eyeing move for Barcelona midfielder Alex Collado

The winter transfer window is still two and a half months away from officially opening up. However, that does not often stop clubs for making offers to buy or loan players from other clubs.

As per Spanish media, Bayer Leverkusen are eyeing loan move for Barcelona midfielder Alex Collado.

The Spain international joined Barcelona from Espanyol on a free transfer in July 2010. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.

The midfielder has featured in only two matches for Barcelona. Collado has also represented Spain at Under-19 level, winning one cap.

He is currently out of favor at Barcelona and could leave the club this winter.

Bayer Leverkusen are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 22-year-old as potential transfer target. They have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

The Spain international will offer the Bayer boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

According to the report, “Bayer Leverkusen are making a move for Barcelona midfielder Alex Collado. Sport says Collado is trapped at Barca without being able to play for the first team or the B team. He did not sign for Sheffield United on the final day of the summer window and now he’s unregistered. Bayer Leverkusen could end up being his next team. They want him in January and Collado wants to leave on loan or sold, as soon as he can. He’s 22 and doesn’t want his progression to stall.”

Alex Collado ideal fit for Bayer Leverkusen?

If Alex Collado is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Bayer Leverkusen.

A move to Leverkusen is exactly what Collado needs to reignite his career, and we hope he is able to do just that.

All in all, the 22-year-old will be an ideal choice for Gerardo Seoane as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his midfielders.

It will be interesting to see where the player ends up this winter.
