The Netherlands international joined Manchester United from Ajax for a fee in the region of 17.5 million euros in September 2014. His contract expires in the summer of 2018.
Since his arrival from Ajax, Blind has scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists in 136 games for Manchester United, including one goal and two assists in 12 games in all competitions this season.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Netherlands.
His record for Netherlands is also impressive. Blind has scored two goals in 52 matches for Netherlands at senior level.
The left-back’s contract at Manchester United is about to expire and a number of clubs are said to be monitoring his situation, with Barcelona showing the most concrete interest in an attempt to lure the player to their team.

According to the report, Daley Blind is entering the final six months of his contract and doesn’t look set to extend his stay after dropping out of the first team. Barcelona are interested in taking advantage of his versatility, with Blind able to play in midfield, as a left-back and at the heart of defense. With Javier Mascherano leaving the Nou Camp next summer, the Netherlands international will most likely be utilized as a ball-playing centre-back should he make the free transfer to Spain. The report adds that Blind could even be booted out of Manchester United next month, albeit for a small fee.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Barcelona.
Whether he will join Barcelona or not remains to be seen.
