His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone wants to sign a new midfielder and Fabian Ruiz is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The Atletico Madrid manager has been impressed by his performances this season and could make a move in the coming transfer window.

Fabian Ruiz has the talent to play many roles in midfield.

According to Football Espana (via Gianluca Di Marzio), “The Spain Under-21 international has become one of the strongholds in the Betis midfield this term, prompting interest from a number of top clubs hoping to secure his signature. Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio now reports the 22-year-old is being monitored by a trio of high-ranking clubs, including Diego Simeone’s side. Fabian renewed his contract at Los Verdiblancos in January, reportedly hiking his release clause from a lowly €12m to a fee in excess of €35m.”

A big money bid from Atletico Madrid could tempt Real Betis into selling their prized asset.

Fabian Ruiz is also being watched by Roma and Napoli.

The 22-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Atletico Madrid squad and would be a good buy in the summer transfer window.

If he turns out to be a star like many expect, it could be one of the club’s smartest transfers.
