Arsenal monitoring Udinese right-back Nahuel Molina
The defensive department of the Arsenal squad needs quality additions this summer.
According to multiple reports emanating from England, Arsenal are monitoring Udinese right-back Nahuel Molina.
The Argentina international joined Udinese from Boca Juniors on a free transfer in September 2020. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.
He has featured in 36 matches this term, netting 8 goals and providing 4 assists in all competitions.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Argentina. Molina has earned 15 senior caps for the Argentina national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.
Nahuel Molina is set to be a man in demand in the summer transfer window, with a host of clubs queuing up to pursue his signature.
The Gunners are looking to sign a right-back and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target.
Mikel Arteta has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe. He is a long term admirer of Molina and believes he can get the most out of the Argentina international.
The former Boca Juniors man can also play as a full-back, offering Arteta a different option should he change his formation at Arsenal.
According to the report, “Udinese defender Nahuel Molina remains on the radar of Arsenal. Calciomercato.com says the Gunners are ahead of Atlético and Juventus in the fight for the player. Molina’s contract with Udinese runs until the summer of 2026. The Zebrette are ready to part with the player for €25-30m.”
Euro Football Rumours
Arsenal have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Argentina international. Udinese are preparing to sell their right-back should they receive a massive offer for him.
Good signing for Arsenal?
The right-back is in the peak of his career right now and he might want to prove his quality in the Premier League if an opportunity comes his way.
Molina has all the skillset required to be a success story at Arsenal. Therefore, it makes sense for Mikel Arteta to step up his attempts to bring the Argentina right-back to Premier League side.
How strong that interest is and whether Arsenal will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
