Arsenal linked with fresh move for Cengiz Under

Arsenal target Cengiz Under from Roma to boost their attacking options.

The latest reports in England suggest that Arsenal are linked with fresh move for Cengiz Under.

The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Turkey international was signed by Roma in July 2017 from Başakşehir for a fee of 13.4 million euros. The 21-year-old has a contract until 2022 with the club.

Under has played 57 times for Roma since signing from Başakşehir, scoring 14 goals and creating 11 assists in that time.

The 21-year-old is considered to be one of the best right wingers in Turkey.

As a member of Turkey national football team, Under won 17 caps and he scored 4 goals.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Arsenal.

Unai Emery has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe. Emery is a long term admirer of Cengiz Under and believes he can get the most out of the Turkey international.

According to Teamtalk, “Arsenal are planning a fresh attempt to lure Cengiz Under to the club from Roma this summer, according to reports in Italy. The Gunners are looking to add more width to their attack this summer and were linked with a swoop for the Turkey star during January. While his €50m asking price proved prohibitive then, Arsenal now hope to finance the deal by offloading Mesut Ozil in the summer – and believe they could have the ace card to convince the 21-year-old to move to north London. Calciomercato claims the imminent appointment of Monchi as sporting director could help convince the player to move, given the Spaniard was also the man who convinced him to move to the Italian capital in the first place.”

Roma are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the right winger, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

Signing the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Unai Emery.
