Wolverhampton submit bid for Zinchenko

Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning a move for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign Manchester City wing-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukraine international joined Manchester City from Ufa for a fee in the region of 2 million euros in July 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2021.

Zinchenko made only 14 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City.

The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has represented Ukraine at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 28 caps and scoring 4 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2015. As a member of Ukraine national football team, Zinchenko won 17 caps and he scored one goal.

Nuno is looking to shore up his midfield options and Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko happens to be a target.

The Ukraine international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of player Nuno wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Zinchenko would be a versatile addition for the Wolverhampton Wanderers, having featured at wing-back, central midfield and in a attacking midfield role.

According to The Sun, “Wolves have launched a £12million bid for Manchester City wing-back Alex Zinchenko. Boss Pep Guardiola is in no rush to lose the Ukrainian, 21. But the imminent arrival of Riyad Mahrez along with fit- again Benjamin Mendy, mean first-team chances for Zinchenko will be limited. That could see Guardiola let the youngster go.”

Manchester City are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the wing back, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

Undoubtedly he would be a fantastic recruit for Wolverhampton.

Wolves fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club this summer.
